Cotton On Kids: My Newest Shopping Destination – The Momma Chronicles

I have another confession to make: I love shopping for my girls. I mean, who doesn’t? There’s always something about shopping for them that makes me happy. And seriously, I prefer shopping for them than buying for myself. That’s why every time I go home with shopping bags on my hand, my husband will always give me a disapproving look and tell me it’s such a waste of money.

Okay, fine, I concede. Kids’ clothes these days are really expensive, sometimes even more expensive than adult clothes. But I always tell him that I don’t shop for them all the time and yes, kaligayahan ko ‘to. 

Anyway, Mothercare has always been my favorite store. It has everything I need for the girls – clothes, shoes, toys, high-chairs, walkers and even cribs. If I need a feeding set, Mothercare will also be on top of my list (though at times, I go to Youji and Me in case I don’t like the design of the feeding sets).

There is one problem: it’s pretty expensive compared to other brands. 

So, my mom introduced me to Uniqlo since they have kids section there. It’s cheaper than Mothercare but the clothes and the quality of the material are really good. The problem is there are only a few choices and during my visit two weeks ago, the kids section is full of bubble jackets. Apparently, my kids can’t use it here. 

While strolling, I was happy to find out that Cotton On, a renowned brand from Australia, has a branch in Trinoma and yes, they have the entire store dedicated for kids. I first came across Cotton On Kids last September. They had 20% off sale on everything to celebrate their second year anniversary so I took the chance and bought clothes, leggings and shoes for my girls. I really liked the material so I said I’ll come back. And I’ve been going back ever since.

Yesterday, I went to Cotton On Kids again since my girls needed clothes for our upcoming trip up north. I was so happy to find out that they have sort of sale, like “Buy 2 long sleeves for P1,000” or “2 Leggings for only P800.00” so yes, I bought again and couldn’t resist myself from shopping.

Here’s why I love Cotton On Kids:

1. The material of the clothes.  Well, from the name itself, you will know that the clothes are made of pure cotton material. I’ve shared in my previous posts how sensitive my kids’ skins are. The only choices I have for them when it comes to their are pure cotton or organic material. I’m really glad that Cotton On Kids’ clothes are soft and gentle on their skin and is made of high quality products. It’s like they really tailored it to fit the needs of babies and kids and their sensitive skin.

2. Cute designs that fits best for kids. I’ve seen a lot of kids’ clothes that makes me want to say “Seriously?” I mean kids are supposed to be kids and as much as we want them to grow up, let’s not rush. What really caught my eyes and make me love Cotton On Kids more is the design of their clothes. It’s perky, it’s fun, it’s catchy, really cute and yes, age-appropriate. My eldest keeps on saying “Wow” and “It’s so nice” and even identify what animals or things are printed on the clothes. 

3. Their price bundles. On its own, the clothes can be expensive. Their long sleeves costs P599 – P679 while the leggings is pegged at P549.00. Before you say, “ang mahal!” what I like about Cotton On Kids is that they sell their items in bundles. This means you get discounts when you buy two or more items so you can save more. The clothes are grouped according to discount to be given so all you have to do is to choose which design you’ll get from the rack. I bought long sleeves for my girls for only P1,000 while the leggings costs me P800.00. That’s more than P100 savings already, which is not bad.

4. Accessibility. I have a sort of rule: when it’s not in QC, then it will take sometime before I even see it. Braving the traffic is not exactly how I want to spend my day so as much as possible, I only go to places that are within Quezon City. Thankfully, Cotton On Kids found its way in Trinoma (if I heard it correctly, it is the first branch in the Philippines). I only get to spend 15 to 20 minutes from my home and yes, I can finally do my shopping without worrying about traffic.

5. Friendly and accommodating staff. I immediately see friendly faces every time I go inside the store. Even the cashier has been telling a lot of stories while I pay. She also asked for my number so she can inform me in case there are new products, sales and other promotions. I really like it when they accommodate me, and other shoppers of course. They immediately attend to my needs in case I’m looking for something, willing to answer my questions, and even make suggestions on what to buy.

6. It has everything I need. As much as possible, I want that one-stop shop type of stores so I don’t have to hop from one place to another. I’m glad Cotton On Kids has everything I need for my girls – clothes, shoes, cardigans, accessories, pants, and even little trinkets they can play with. You can just imagine how much time I spend going around the store.
