Meet the Momma – The Momma Chronicles

Who am I?

Hello there! I’m Ayi, the momma behind this blog, The Momma Chronicles. I am a former banker turned law student turned stay-at-home mom with two wonderful, adorable and beautiful baby girls.

Aside from being the boss of my own home and a super momma according to my kids, I am also a Communications Manager of a Fin-Tech company based in the Philippines, a freelance content writer, an online seller slash momma-preneur (please check out Woodhouse Linens for affordable curtains and throw pillow cases and Aly & J for dresses) and a mom blogger who wants to share my experiences as a mom and wife. From time-to-time, I also contribute articles to The Asian Parent digital magazine and SM Home.

How It Started

I started out this blog in 2013 under the WordPress umbrella. By the end of 2014, I took a leap of faith, hired a web designer, and decided to drop the .wordpress to purchase my own domain.

The reason why I started this blog is to have an outlet. I am a type of person who is always on-the-go and doesn’t want to settle. I always like to keep things going with jam-packed schedule. Since I gave birth to our second child, my husband and I decided that it is best for our growing family to stay at home and take care of the kids.

Here’s the thing: I don’t like that. I always believe that women should be given a chance to work, succeed, and achieve something despite wearing different hats. Not that I look down on stay-at-home moms, but I felt that being a mother, wife, and career woman all at the same time can be achieved. So, I needed an outlet to remind me that there’s more to life than just career and being on top. At the same time, I want to rekindle my passion for writing, which makes sense since I work as a freelance writer for more than three years. I’ve been writing for various websites so why not write for my own, right?

What The Blog Can Offer

The Momma Chronicles is everything parenting, family life, and mommy-hood. When my kids are in their most behaved state or in rare occasions that they both take their afternoon nap, I blog about cloth diapering to breastfeeding to potty training to feeding the tots to shopping to toys to tantrums to product reviews and anything in between.

Sure, kids are different and your kids may be better and more disciplined than mine but so what? Moms help moms, right? I also share some of the recipes I do at home – and the simplest ones I promise, in case the kitchen and I are in good terms.

Aside from my life as a mom, I also share my experiences as a wife and money manager at home. I share finance and money tips based on personal experiences, which ordinary moms like me can apply in daily lives. From time to time, I will also write about relationship / marriage tips to keep the fire burning – though I think your married life is more peaceful than mine. Haha!

What about the links?

I am not affiliated with any of the products / companies I will mention in this blog unless stated otherwise. Some links will simply lead you to the website or Facebook page related to the product or topic I am writing about. Some links are affiliate links – and I will tell you if it is. I also don’t get any free products or services from the affiliate links but a reasonable commission. By clicking on the links and making a purchase using those links, you are actually helping The Momma Chronicles to continuously look for products that are highly-recommended for your little ones.

Go ahead mommies. Feel free to browse my blog. I would really appreciate if you share my posts too. Thanks for dropping by!
